goodbye October // hello November

Well, October came and went and November is here. Yikes! Does that mean we are two months away from the end of the year?! When did 2015 creep up so close I can almost touch it? I am not sure how I feel about this. Anywho, here are my goals from last month as well as new goals for November!

October Goals
>> work out twice a week ---->
I failed miserably! I only got a few workouts in this month.
>> Finish reading Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist & start Leota's Garden by Francine Rivers
---> I finished both books and started reading Jesus Among Other Gods by Ravi Zacharias
>> Memorize scripture weekly with Greg as well as focus on  Psalm 19:7-8 from the Open Your Bible study by She Reads Truth that I did in September (which was SO good)
--> We focused on Proverbs 3:5-6 and Isaiah 26:3. So good!!
>> Review atleast 4 different Bible studies I've done in the last year by using my journals and re-reading the Scriptures so the truths continue to settle in my heart and mind.
--> Yes! I have been reviewing different journal entries in my Bible study journal from personal studies I have gone through in the past year. It has been great to be reminded of truths and see how they apply in my current season!
>> Write to my Compassion International child monthly
--> Yes! Wrote to her a few days ago
>> 10 Day herbal detox
--> it helped a bit, but I still have lots to change in my diet and physical activity. I have been slacking!
>> 1 new recipe
>> Meet with my little sister
--> Yes! We had a fun day at the beginning of October!
>> Get to bed by 11:00 on work nights
--> Not as often as I would have liked!
>> Try to do Bible study devotions before 10pm (if I do them last thing before bed, I am exhausted and tend to rush through it)
---> I am working on this slowly!
>> Make a habit out of praying before and after my Bible devotions
>> Continue to journal 3 blessings per day in my 100 Gifts journal
>> Snail mail: 4 letters in the next month
--> I sent 3, I think!
>> Review atleast 1 lecture from my grad school powerpoint slides that is practical for my work setting
---> Well, I attended a Nurse Practitioner conference where I learned LOTS of new things, so I think that counts.
>> Continue to check my online budgets monthly

November Goals
>> Write to my Compassion Child
>> Pack atleast 4 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and continue to announce it at church so more people will be involved with this awesome ministry!
>> Get to bed by 11 on work nights
>> Pray before opening my Bible and doing any Bible study
>> Continue to journal 3 blessings/gifts every day
>> Snail mail: 3 letters in the next month
>> Work out atleast once a week
>> Read atleast 1 work-related article or powerpoint notes from my NP program
>> Meditate and memorize a new verse
>> 1 new recipe
>> Check my online budgeting atleast once this month
>> Start a new book

And to finish, here are some of my favorite memories from October:
… taking my nephew to the local library for a toddler reading/play group …
… hanging out with my "little sis" …
… visiting my home away from home (Seattle) for a nurse practitioner conference …
… visiting my handsome in Texas + all the adventures we had . . .
… catching up with friends who live in Texas …

Welcome, November! Let's see what you've got rolled up your sleeve!

  3. Happy November! Oh I love this list!! I really should give myself some goals like this ...to at least motivate me to do something! I've been eyeing Cold Tangerines for awhile. Was that a good book?
