journey of eucharisteo // week three

"When I give thanks for the seemingly microscopic,
I make a place for God to grow within me.
This makes me full, and I "magnify Him
with Thanksgiving"(Psalm 69:30)".
[One Thousand Gifts, Ann Voscamp, p. 59]

This week has been really busy and it was a challenge to keep writing in my thanksgiving journal since it was a chore just to keep my eyes pried open at the end of the evening. But here are a few of the things I am thankful for this week:

87. Late dinner with one of my best friends. It was so fun to catch up.
89. My mom surprised me with a sweet Thanksgiving card
91. Books that teach me about Jesus and biographies about missionaries.
92. Goofy kids in clinic
94. Seeing kids and teens excited to participate in Operation Christmas Child.
96. Peace amidst the storm, which was a great reminder from She Reads Truth
97. My monthly massage. My massage therapist is the sweetest & its always fun to catch up every month.
101. A clean apartment and the smell of clean laundry

"I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because
the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment;
it is its appointed consummation"
[C.S. Lewis]

    1. You totally should!! Most drop-off locations are closing shop this Sunday or Monday . . . so you still have a wee-bit of time if you want to do it this year!

  2. Great list. Especially OCC and biographies on missionaries. I definitely want to add those to my reading list. What is your favorite biography you have read on a missionary? (I know, that might be a hard question...sorry. haha)

    1. It IS a hard question! My top six are: Kisses from Katie (by Katie Davis), Appointment in Jerusalem (Lydia Prince), The Little Woman (Gladys Aylward), These Strange Ashes (Elisabeth Elliot), Chasing the Dragon (Jackie Pullinger), and A Chance to Die: Life + Legacy of Amy Carmichael (Elisabeth Elliot). My absolute favorite would have to be Kisses from Katie!

  3. I read #91 and was just about to ask which books you were reading until I saw your list in the comment above… I've only read Kisses from Katie, I've got to find some of those others!!!

    1. Those are my favorite! They are written by or about women who selflessly travelled to foreign countries to serve the people God loves. They are all so inspiring and courageous!!
